Open-source Hardware refers to technological hardware that has its schematics available to the public. Open-source Hardware is copyrighted under a non-restrictive license that allows anyone to make, modify, redistribute, and sell it. As described by Open Source Ecology "the GVCS is an open technological platform that allows for the easy fabrication of the 50 types of industrial machines that it takes to build a small civilization with modern comforts". The blueprints developed are tested on the groups "Factor e Farm" in Maysville, Missouri. They currently have a program to teach college age individuals how to build their "Seed Eco-homes".
