Open-source Hardware Projects
- Farm Hack - "a community of individuals and organizations coming together to develop and share tools of all kinds, in the name of open-source knowledge and resilient agricultural systems"
- Appropedia - "the sustainability wiki ... an encyclopedia of appropriate technologies"
- Open Source Ecology - Open Source Ecology (OSE) is a network of farmers, engineers, architects and supporters, whose main goal is the eventual manufacturing of the Global Village Construction Set (GVCS). As described by Open Source Ecology "the GVCS is an open technological platform that allows for the easy fabrication of the 50 types of industrial machines that it takes to build a small civilization with modern comforts".[3] The blueprints developed are tested on the groups "Factor e Farm" in Maysville, Missouri. They currently have a program to teach college age individuals how to build their "Seed Eco-homes".
- Arduino - Arduino is a technological circuit board with a built in micro-controller. It allows anyone just starting off with circuitry and programming to learn how to build electronics. It can make DIY projects much easier.
- RISC-V - An open source instruction set to make computer processors (CPUs).
